Our Givebackpacker of Turkey, Damla, was living in San Diego, California the last two years getting her MBA and recently has moved back to Turkey. Since she has moved back to her home country, she and a few of her girlfriends are incredibly passionate about helping those in need and have started an organization, Çocuklar Hep Gülsün (“We Want Kids to Smile,”) and been visiting schools in poor areas outside of Ankara, the capital, to see what necessary repairs and supplies they need to effectively educate students.
They believe that visiting the schools themselves, seeing the issues first hand and delivering the supplies and getting necessary repairs done is best and they truly love to see kids smile.
